Why Us

We are a nursery setting for children aged 6 months to 11 years

WHF’S main aim is provide a loving, secure family environment where children can learn and develop at their own pace, we place great emphasis on play and believe in the characteristics of effective learning.

We use in the moment planning (ITMP) at WHF, where we aim to capture the interest of the child in the present moment.  The child has a desire to learn, explore and question and we offer a stimulating and inviting environment that enables child-initiated play to capture the moment of engagement.  Practitioners seize the moment when a child shows an interest in an activity and then build upon this through teachable moments.

Bunnies 0-2yrs

Welcome to the Bunnies, our loving and bouncy under two’s, who love to explore the world and develop their senses.

Squirrels 2-3yrs

Welcome to the Squirrels our loving and energetic two-year olds who go beyond the limits and discover new things each day.

Hedgehogs (Preschool)

Welcome to Hedgehogs, the Whitehouse Farm Pre-school, where children challenge themselves and build on their ever growing skills.

We have a strong belief that health and wellbeing is a fundamental part of a child’s development, the rural setting and spacious grounds ensure that this is the case.

Healthy home cooked meals are provided, and the children are encouraged to take part in growing their own vegetables, picking fruit and collecting eggs.

Our pre-school provides children with an invigorating environment with ample opportunities to explore the world around them.
