WHF Nursery
I wanted healthy meals that would expose the children to different foods in a no pressure environment. With all this in mind I created White House Farm, a stimulating environment where the children feel safe and relaxed ensuring they are learning to the best of their ability. I have to say I love my job and am very proud of the nursery, the staff and the children past and present.

WHF Nursery
As a mother of 3 I looked at some nurseries and couldn’t find what I was looking for. I wanted lots of outdoor space, with a home from home environment, I wanted experienced childcare from people who really wanted to work with children. Whitehouse Farm is situated in the small rural village of Sedgebrook just off the A52, 6 miles from Grantham. The nursery is purpose built in former stable blocks and has been restored to retain the original character of the old buildings.

The nursery has been designed to create a home from home environment with the décor and furnishings reflecting the nursery ethos.

The nursery provides care for children aged 6 months to 11 years. We have three main rooms and a superb outdoor space including our very own orchard, which is always available to the children.  We believe that outdoor play is essential to all children to enable them to holistically thrive and succeed.

‘Play is the highest form of research’- Albert Einstein

I am actively engaged with all aspects of the nursery and particularly enjoyed gardening with the children; giving them the opportunity to plant and grow their own foods which they can pack and cook with during the nursery day. I am the behavior co-Ordinator for the setting.

I now hold a BA Hons degree in Early Childhood studies which I completed at Bishop Grosseteste university. I have a real passion for providing children with real life opportunities and offer this through weekly forest school sessions. I completed my level 3 forest school teacher qualification in December 2016 and have set up a forest school at a local woodland.

White House Farm Nursery

At Whitehouse farm we understand the importance of nutrition and diet for your child’s health. We recognise that nursery aged children require meals rich in starch to provide lots of energy, foods rich in protein such as meat and fish and lots of fruit and vegetables for those all important vitamins and minerals.

We pride ourselves on the quality of the food we offer, all meals are freshly prepared and cooked daily from scratch meaning processed foods are kept to an absolute minimum. We use locally sourced suppliers for our meat and Vegetables.

Special dietary needs or preferences are easily catered for, all children’s dietary needs are discussed and recorded when they settle into nursery.

Menus are on a four weekly cycle and are changed every term to take into account the seasons and to ensure the children try a wide variety of foods.
Meals are a social occasion and children are encouraged to help set tables and prepare ingredients. Staff sit with the children at meals times and siblings are able to sit together if they wish, this enables children of all ages and staff to interact within our family environment.
